Protected part of the landscape of field trees south of Margarethenhof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component of field trees south of Margarethenhof with an area of 1.71  ha is north of Leitmar in the urban area of Marsberg . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis as a protected landscape component (LB). The LB is surrounded by the Margarethenhof landscape protection area .

description

The landscape plan elaborates on the LB: “The protected object comprises a forest stand on two limestone ribs on the northern edge of the Sauernberg that stretches to the northwest and west. They are planted with strong beeches (chest height diameter up to 60 cm) and some spruces. The beeches have many tree hollows. The parent rock partially emerges on the forest floor. The herb layer is well developed, at the foot of the slope towards the grassland there are more grassland species and fault indicators. In the hollow between the ribs, a larger population of elderberries has spread out, which continues to the south with a humid “transitional belt” between forest and open land, covered with coppice-like forests. This means that the entire LB is rich in ecologically interesting small structures on very different site conditions and provides excellent impressions in the landscape (both directly "in the object" and in the distance; this in particular with the large trees on the limestone rib spreading to the west, north and south of Open land is surrounded). A forestry use of the trees that does not run counter to the protection purpose is unaffected by the determination. "

Protection purpose

The designation as LB took place:

  • To maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the natural balance
  • For revitalizing, structuring or maintaining the townscape and landscape
  • To ward off harmful effects

Like the other LBs in the landscape plan area, the LB represents an outstanding habitat for the ecological performance of the natural balance. It also serves as an element that structures and animates the landscape. The designation serves to ward off real or potential harmful effects through the removal of plants, relief or water changes, etc.
