Protected landscape component field trees on Hengesberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component of field trees on Hengesberg with an area of 1.33  hectares is located north of Leitmar in the urban area of Marsberg . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis as a protected landscape component (LB). The LB is surrounded by the Margarethenhof landscape protection area . The LB consists of two sub-areas.

description

The landscape plan explains the LB: “Over the elongated, shallow limestone dome of the Hengesberg, an interrupted, narrow strip of field wood extends roughly in a north-south direction, the wood of which is clearly dominated by beech. The smaller northern stock is part of the surrounding cattle pasture, so its herb layer is not very well developed. In the fenced off, larger southern part, the species protection potential of this location becomes clear with a large number of (sometimes rare and endangered) herb species. The beech trees sometimes reach thick wood dimensions up to 50 cm in diameter at chest height, but a shrub layer is only weakly developed in the southern stand. There are no forest coats due to the heavy grazing of the surrounding grassland. The protected object achieves a significant landscape-defining effect, especially from the plateau in the east, which is almost entirely used for agriculture, and contributes significantly to the value of this cultural landscape section around the Margarethenhof. Due to its overall size, forest use should not be ruled out. A forestry use of the trees that does not conflict with the stated protective purpose is unaffected by the stipulation. "

Protection purpose

The designation as LB took place:

  • To maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the natural balance
  • For revitalizing, structuring or maintaining the townscape and landscape
  • To ward off harmful effects

Like the other LBs in the landscape plan area, the LB represents an outstanding habitat for the ecological performance of the natural balance. It also serves as an element that structures and animates the landscape. The designation serves to ward off real or potential harmful effects through the removal of plants, relief or water changes, etc.
