Protected landscape component of field trees east of Margarethenhof

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The protected landscape component of field trees east of Margarethenhof with an area of 0.78  ha is located north of Leitmar in the urban area of Marsberg . The area was designated in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis as a protected landscape component (LB). The LB is surrounded by the Margarethenhof landscape protection area . The LB consists of two sub-areas.

description

The landscape plan explains the LB: “It is a two-part, beech-dominated field wood in the valley between Hengesberg and Sauernberg. The larger part stands on a north-facing embankment, the smaller on an almost flat (limestone) subsoil. In addition to beeches there are oaks and some spruces; In some places a forest coat rich in shrub species is formed. However, both wooded areas are open to grazing cattle, so that the herb layer - potentially rich in species on the existing limestone subsoil - is underdeveloped. In order to help the species protection potential of the protected object to be fully effective, fencing off the wooded areas would therefore make sense. In addition, the bushes are at least potential breeding habitats for species of the wood-structured open land. "

Protection purpose

The designation as LB took place:

  • To maintain, develop or restore the efficiency and functionality of the natural balance
  • For revitalizing, structuring or maintaining the townscape and landscape
  • To ward off harmful effects

Like the other LBs in the landscape plan area, the LB represents an outstanding habitat for the ecological performance of the natural balance. It also serves as an element that structures and animates the landscape. The designation serves to ward off real or potential harmful effects through the removal of plants, relief or water changes, etc.
