The protected landscape component of the Kaisberg wetland area with an area of ​​2.1  ha lies in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The LB was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen.

Description in the landscape plan: "The landscape component extends at the south-western, wooded foot of the hillside of the Kaisberg and includes a stream spring with subsequent stream, small bodies of water and swamp areas, old hardwood stands and the forest above the source."

Protection purpose

According to the landscape plan, the designation was made “to ensure the efficiency of the natural balance by maintaining a wet biotope as a habitat, especially for endangered animal and plant species in the spring and swamp zones with their characteristic communities”.
