The protected landscape component Kerbtalsiepen on the Mittelberg with an area of ​​1.01  ha is located south of Winterberg . The area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 2008 when the Winterberg landscape plan was drawn up by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . In the north, the reserve borders on the edge of the settlement of Winterberg. The LB is mostly surrounded by the Winterberg nature reserve . Only in the south-east is the nature reserve grassland islands around Winterberg directly adjacent . The LB is on the southern flank of the Mittelberg .

Area description

It is a deeply indented nameless sieve from the plateau southwards into the brook Bronseifen, which is 80 m lower, and flows with it into the Nuhne . In the LB there are spring corridors with larger silver leaf stocks, which give the impression of gorge forest communities locally . The running waters are a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG .
