The protected landscape component Neue Wiese and Waldrand north of the Festerbachkopf with an area of ​​0.81  hectares lies northwest of Winterberg . The area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 2008 when the Winterberg landscape plan was drawn up by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The LB is almost entirely surrounded by the Winterberg nature reserve , only parts of the earlier route border on the Nameless Valley System nature reserve in the east . The LB is north of the Festerbachkopf mountain .

Area description

It is a wasteland with a sieve and the earlier path to the valley belongs to the LB at about 350 m. Today the path area forms a varied forest mantle with vegetation worthy of protection and small structures such as diabase boulders in the transition to the former Hude, which today belongs to the Nameless Valley System nature reserve . On the main area there are grassland areas from fallow wet grassland to grassy grassland. Rare and endangered plant species can be found on the grassland.

The LB is a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG .
