It is the source region of a nameless brook with a curved, locally swamped Siepen on a gently sloping slope. In the LB there are extensive seepage springs in an area of wet grassland fallow, willow bushes and spring meadows rich in moss. The nameless creek becomes the Kohlseifenbach 200 m below the LB together with a quellsiepenbach to the west. The Kohlseifenbach is the first major tributary of the Ruhr . There are rare plant species in the LB. The source region is a legally protected biotope according to § 30 BNatSchG . The LB is surrounded by spruce forest.
