from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Society of Austrian Chemists (GÖCH) is an association founded in 1897 for chemists and chemistry students. According to his own information, he had around 1900 full members in 2015.

The association sees one of its tasks as organizing international symposia , congresses and public discussion events dedicated to the fields of chemistry . There are 24 working groups within GÖCH that deal with different specialist areas. The very specific concerns of chemical analysis are represented by ASAC (Austrian Society for Analytical Chemistry in the GÖCH). Awards are also given for special merits in the field of chemistry, which are named after famous Austrian research personalities ( Josef-Loschmidt - or Carl-Freiherr-Auer-von-Welsbach - medal , Friedrich-Emich-plaque ). Among other things, the association also helps members look for jobs and, together with the Austrian Academy of Sciences, is the publisher of a scientific journal ( monthly journals for chemistry - Chemical Monthly).

Four monthly issues of the chemical news published by the Society of German Chemists act as a newsletter for the members .
