The Society for Holistic Research is an association for the preservation and further development of the philosophical, scientific and socio-political legacy of Othmar Spann . This included the evaluation of Othmar Spann's estate and the publication of the so-called Othmar Spann Complete Edition from 1963 to 1979 . The association was founded in Vienna in 1956 on the initiative of Walter Heinrich . The initial membership was largely identical to the earlier so-called Spannkreis . In 2006 the association largely stopped its activities.

Publications and meetings

At the company's first annual meeting on March 21, 1957, in the Auditorium Maximum of the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna , Hans Sedlmayr gave the official opening lecture. From the beginning, in addition to the annual meetings, working groups were offered that met monthly in evening sessions, with lectures and courses on the program. Vienna working groups met until 2006, those in Graz stopped meeting in 1966, those in Klagenfurt and Salzburg around 1989, and those in Linz in 2000.

The Society for Integrative Research decreed in February 1957 on a club magazine, the newsletter of the Society for Integrative Research , from 1959, the Journal of Holistic Research was. In the meantime, he also published a review magazine, the literary mirror , which appeared from 1971 to Ender 1990. At the 56th meeting of the association on September 24th, 2006 it was decided not to hold any further meetings and to discontinue the magazine for holistic research .
