Society for Kiel City History
The Society for Kiel City History is a city history association founded on December 10, 1875 in the legal form of a registered association with its registered office in Kiel .
Goal and publications
The aim of the company is to promote research on the history of the city of Kiel, to arouse citizens' awareness of their own history and to make a contribution to cultural diversity.
To achieve this goal, the society publishes the notices of the Gesellschaft für Kieler Stadtgeschichte as well as the series of special publications by the Gesellschaft für Kieler Stadtgeschichte . Since its inception, it has published a total of 175 titles, including a. it is source publications, monographs and edited volumes. For the 125th anniversary of the company in 2000, Renate Dopheide created an indexed bibliography for the publications, which enables online research.
According to the company, it is planned to make the PDFs of all publications available online in 2018.
organization
The society has around 1400 members (as of 2014). It is one of the largest associations in the history of the city in Germany. The chairman of the board is Rolf Fischer , his deputy Annette Wiese-Krukowska.
