The health holding Lüneburg is a company under whose roof nine companies in the health sector in the Lüneburg region are located.
history
In 2006, the state of Lower Saxony began to sell the state hospitals. In the course of this, the city of Lüneburg decided, on the basis of a cross-party consensus, to acquire the city hospital itself. As a result, several municipal service providers in the health sector merged in 2007 to form the health holding Lüneburg . At the time it was founded, the holding company consisted of five players: in addition to the clinic itself, these were the psychiatric clinic, the spa center, the day clinic at the Kurpark and the Clinic Service. After the accession of the Städtisches Pflegezentrum gGmbH, the orthoclinic, the fitness service provider sports & friends and the ambulance center in 2012, nine institutions have now been united under the umbrella of the health holding Lüneburg.

The health holding is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg , the chairman of the supervisory board is the city's mayor, Ulrich Mägde (SPD). With around 3,600 employees, the company is one of the largest employers in the region. The company's guiding theme is "Hand in hand for your health".

education
In the course of the reform of nursing training as part of the Nursing Professions Act in 2020, the health holding Lüneburg entered into a cooperation with the vocational schools and other institutions in the region. In the course of this cooperation, the new requirements for the training of nurses should be implemented in order to impart comprehensive knowledge in various areas of activity.
