GetJar
GetJar is a sales portal that sells apps for mobile phones, with free apps also available for download. About 75,000 apps are available for various platforms, including Java ME , Blackberry , Symbian , Windows Mobile and Android . Since it was founded in 2004, GetJar has had more than a billion downloads from around 200 countries. GetJar last claimed to operate the world's second largest app store in December 2010. Nokia claims the same from its Nokia Store , and the advertising company Smaato from Google's Google Play Store . The different results come about through different counting methods.
The company was founded by Ilja Laurs, who is also the company's CEO. The largest investor is Accel Partners .
