Geared head

Gear heads are tripod heads with a gear drive for adjusting the three axes. Advantages over conventional three-way tripod heads are that they can be set easily, stably and, in particular, more precisely for each axis. The setting with a self-locking gear drive prevents heavy camera structures from falling or falling. The precise adjustability is a decisive advantage , especially for the exact alignment of view cameras and the accuracy of fit of the individual images in panoramic photography .

Manufacturers of gear tiggers include Arca Swiss , Manfrotto and Linhof .
