The Giæverrück ( Norwegian Giæverryggen , English Giaever Ridge ) is a large and snowy mountain range in the Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It extends over a length of 112 km with north-south extension on the western flank of the Schytt glacier .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952). It is named after the Norwegian polar explorer John Schjelderup Giæver (1901–1970), leader of this research trip .
