Gianluca Fumagalli

Gianluca Fumagalli (* 1955 in Milan ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Fumagalli graduated in American literature and then studied at the "Scuola di Cinema" in his hometown. His first works were short films before he turned to documentaries and commercials. His first feature film from 1983, Come dire… is considered a good example of low-budget, but imaginative cinema. His third film, Café La Mama , again based on his own script, was shot entirely in a psychiatric institution . From 1994 to 1999 Fumagalli lived in San Francisco , where he worked for Italian-language television. After the 2001 comedy Quasi quasi , he shot the series Così fan tutte for television in 2008 .
