Gianmaria Zamagni

Gianmaria Zamagni (* 1974 in Rimini ) is an Italian church historian .

Life

He studied philosophy at the University of Bologna from 1993 to 1999 . He did his community service in 2000. After completing his doctorate (2001-2004) he was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD in religious studies in Bologna . From 2005 to 2009 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Pope John XXIII Foundation. (Bologna), and from 2009 to 2017 research assistant at the Cluster of Excellence Religion and Politics at the University of Münster in the project The Vatican and the Legitimation of Physical Violence in the Spanish Civil War 1936–1939 . After completing his habilitation in Italy ( Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale , Sector: Religious History) in 2013, he is a lecturer in church history at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and at the Institute for Theology and Social Ethics at TU Darmstadt . After completing his habilitation at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main in 2014, he has been a private lecturer in the history of religion there since 2015 . In 2016 he represented the professorship for the History of Medieval Philosophy at the University of Bologna. From 2018-2019 he was a research assistant at the Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and since 2018 he has been the scientific coordinator of the Vatican 2 Legacy and Mandate Intercontinental Commentary project at the Philosophical-Theological University of Vallendar .
