Gianni Minello

Gianni Minello (born June 26, 1938 in Venice ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Minello graduated from the Venice Conservatory in polyphony and devoted himself to short films from 1964 to 1968 , directing for “Unitelfilm”. In the first year of this activity he also made the feature-length documentary Ca 'Emiliani per semper . From 1971 onwards he worked for eight years as secretary of the Unione Circoli Cinematografici dall'Arci (UCCA) and was an advisor to the “Consorzio Nazionale Cooperatove Cinematografiche”, head of the film department of “Arci-Uisp” and chairman of the production company “Cine 2000”.

In 1975 he directed his first feature film, Nel cerchio , which he followed up with four more; They all had in common the issue of young people with behavioral problems, as well as the difficulty of finding appropriate rental conditions, so that they disappeared from the market almost unseen.

In 1986 he received an Italian Golden Globe for Un ragazzo come tanti , which had been filmed three years earlier .
