Elbringhausen is a district of Wermelskirchen near the city limits of Remscheid - Bergisch Born . The district emerges from an old courtyard and was expanded to include a heavily frequented industrial area. The dead end character of the old town center ensures a certain independence.

history

The history of the place has been researched in detail. The -inghausen -form of the court is a engric name custom and suggests an early settlement in the 6th to 8th centuries by tribes from the Saxon area. In 1398 the place was mentioned as Ailbrinchuysen , in 1449 it was called Alverkusen .

In 1586 five tax-paying residents were expelled and in 1715 the court was first found on a map. In 1832 71 citizens lived in the nine houses of the Ackerhof Elbringhausen. There were eight farm buildings in total. The population was increasing, because in 1814 only 64 people lived here.

In the 19th century, the residents formed their own accordion and lute orchestra and the Elbringhausen men's choir, which has existed since 1883, known as the “Singers' Association”. This self-confidence has also been preserved today, because the village has its own flag and magazine.
