Name and story

Beam from an old house on the Lehn with the year 1673

The name Lehn is derived from a fiefdom of the court court Grünscheid (Burscheid) , which belonged to the Cologne cathedral monastery . The first mention of Lehn can be found in 1553 in the Grünscheider court court protocols. Eberhart zum Lehn and his journeymen are named as helpers. The courtyard was probably built in 1673.

In the map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824, Lehn is shown in an enclosed courtyard with two building floor plans. The place name Lehn can be found in the official topographical maps to this day.
