Andrea Thema (* 1957 in Maroldsweisach , Lower Franconia ) is a German artist .

Life

From 1976 to 1979, Thema studied to be a specialist teacher at elementary schools, special elementary schools, secondary schools and vocational schools in the subject combination of manual work / housekeeping at the specialist academy in Würzburg and in Nuremberg and at the State Institute Department III in Nuremberg. After the first state examination, she went to preparatory service for two years and after the second state examination worked until 2004 as a subject teacher (H) in the state service, mainly in Nuremberg. She taught u. a. in the subjects of housekeeping, manual labor, textile work, textile design and handicrafts . From 1982 to 1999 she worked as a training teacher, internship teacher and member of the examination committee for the state examinationfor the 1st teaching examination at the State Institute Department III in Nuremberg. In addition, she worked from 1989 to 1993 as a lay judge at the district court and from 1993 to 1997 as a lay judge at the regional court in Nuremberg. In 1992 she acquired a lifeguard instructor license with qualification for teacher training and thus the qualification and state recognition to give swimming lessons at elementary schools and schools for the disabled, as well as lessons in lifeguards and headed the DLRG and school department in Bavaria. From 2006 to 2008 Andrea was a national lecturer at the DLRG Bildungswerk in Bad Nenndorf. In 2009 she received the gold badge of honor from the regional association of DLRG Bavaria for her longstanding commitment .

In her first marriage to the scientist Manfred Fuchs, she was called Andrea Fuchs. The physicist Benjamin Fuchs, born in 1984, emerged from this marriage. Andrea Thema has been married to the artist Giselher Scheicher since 2007 . From 2013 to mid-2014 she was acting head of Paramentik Neuendettelsau . She has been working as a freelance artist since 1986; she now lives and works in the Nuremberg region.

Since the artist found her characteristic in painting, namely processed sandpaper, an objet trouvé as a background, she has also been concerned with the connection between art and architecture, art in sacred space, kinetic and cybernetic art, as well as the connection between art and Technology. Spacious installations and the use of extraordinary materials in connection with light and illuminations have become a focus of her work.

scholarship

In cooperation with the Kunsthaus Nürnberg, the Office for International Relations of the City of Nuremberg and the Cultural Office of Macedonia, Thema was awarded a scholarship in 2009 to participate in the 23rd International Art Colony, a plein air symposium in the Sv. Joakim Osogovski , in the Kriva Palanka Province , Macedonia .
