Joachim Wild

Joachim Wild (born March 4, 1942 in Wangen im Allgäu ) is a German historian and archivist .

Life

From 1961 to 1966 he studied (history, Latin, Catholic religion) in Tübingen , Vienna and Munich . After receiving his doctorate in 1969 in Munich with Peter Acht in auxiliary historical sciences (contributions to keeping records of Bavarian monasteries and monasteries in the Middle Ages), he was director of the Bavarian Main State Archives from 1998 to 2007 . After joining the Bavarian archives service in 1967, he has been an honorary professor for Bavarian history and auxiliary historical sciences at the LMU since 1999 .

His research focuses on source studies on Bavarian history , typology of archival sources (documents, official books, files), Bavaria in the late Middle Ages and monasteries and secularization . His research projects include the edition of Konradin's documents and letters (MGH), the Biographical Handbook of the Central Authorities and the Court of the Duchy of Bavaria 1508–1799, hospitals and hospital archives in Bavaria and Bavarian land tables from the late Middle Ages.
