Giselher Scheicher (* 1960 in Regensburg ) is a German artist.

Life

Giselher Scheicher was born in Regensburg in 1960 and spent the first 6 years of his life here. Afterwards he went to Nuremberg. After graduating from high school, he first completed a degree in special education / art education at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg , graduating in 1985 with the first state examination. From 1985 to 1988 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg under Oskar Koller and Professor Werner Knaupp . He has been working as a freelance artist since 1988. Giselher Scheicher lives and works in the Nürnberger Land.

Since graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg in 1989, Giselher Scheicher has been working as a freelance artist in the field of painting, graphics and plastic, in the field of installation, art in public spaces and art in construction.

The main focus of his artistic work lies in painting, drawing, sculptural design and installation in space. By restricting himself to the color blue and the material of the plastic film, an artificial material of our time, he has been exploring this topic for decades. However, through the systematic and continuous deepening, new artistic paths and variations have always emerged and are still emerging. This enabled a very wide range of forms of expression to develop. In the area of ​​his artistic work, he is interested in going from the wall into the room with expansive installations and a. particularly emphasize the use of the extraordinary material, the processed and painted plastic film, in connection with light and illuminations.
