The Bergermühle is located on the Eifgenbach east of Im Berg , north of Assmannskotten and west of Eipringhausen in Wermelskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

It is mentioned for the first time in 1420 in connection with a Sybel in Bergh.

Over many generations and families, a Peter Molinäus whose family owns the mill is mentioned for the first time in 1622. The Bergisches Provincial Synod of the Solingen class meets at Peter Molinäus this year.

The son, also called Peter Molinäus, built today's house in 1654, as the motto shows:

Where God doesn’t give him favor at home, then all work is chaotic. Anno 1654 .

According to the treasury and tax book of Wermelskirchen from 1684, Peter Müller (Molinäus) pays the highest tax in the Niederhonschaft with 1914 thalers, 42 stüber and four hellers.

According to the burger stock book from 1690, Peter im Berg gives a Malter rye to the winery.

Peter Müller (Molinäus), probably the son, took part in the eventual hereditary homage of 1730.

In 1750 it is said that the mill in the mountain is owned by Peter. He gives a Reichstaler to Martini.

A lawsuit of the widow Wilhelm Molinäus and the guardians of their children, led against camera fishing tenants Andreas Disselhoff and Peter Erbsloher, for fishing in the Eifgenbach is pending in 1773.

In 1778 Arnold Molinäus bought the Hutzhammerplatz, located on the so-called Reisberger Kameralbusch, below the Neuenmühle am Eifgenbach (a part of this area is now a parking lot for hikers).

In 1829 the Molinäus family sold the mill to Johann Wilhelm Frowein von der Neuenhöhe for 6800 thalers.

In 1891 Max Molineus, from Barmen, a descendant of the family, bought the mill back from Carl Frowein for 39,000 marks.

In the topographical map of 1938, the area is marked for the last time by a mill symbol.

In 1966 the composer Casimir von Pászthory spent the last days of his life here.

The stately building is now used for residential purposes.
