Rausmühle

Rausmühle is a district of Wermelskirchen and is located in the Eifgental at the end of a cul-de-sac starting from the federal road 51 on the Unterstrasse via Löh and Buddemühle . There are two houses there and a popular restaurant with a beer garden.

history

The first mention can be found in 1469 in the tax list of the Bornefeld office . Another mention was made in 1487. The later proper name of the Rausmühle was first listed in 1546 in the Cologne shrine books as Johann Rouwsmollen and his wife Katharina .

Over many centuries and stations, the mill was kept in very many files and directories. The estate belonging to the mill was run as one of the largest estates in Wermelskirchen in 1684. In 1692, Peter Platzhoff was named as the owner of Rawß Mülle in the Burger Lagerbuch . It was connected to an oil mill and had no compulsion .

In 1730 the hunting border ran from the Abbey Altenberg and the Dhünnenburg over the Rausmühle. In 1830 Johan Wilhelm Hager owned the Rausmühle next to the D Körper mill in Hückeswagen .

In 1875 the widow Caroline Zimmermann, b. Hager the mill for 33,000 marks to her son Wilhelm. In 1967 the property, which had been operated as a mill until then, was sold to an innkeeper for 150,000 DM, who ended the mill operation
