Holy Born
The Heiligen Born estate is located southwest of Dhünn and east of Dabringhausen -Stumpf in Wermelskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The name probably comes from a medicinal spring.
In 1688 the burger stock book said: Gerharden Kohl zu Pilchhausen is wealthy at Eichholtz and leases a place called Wiesenblech with quol (source, Born).
Likewise it was called in 1711 Gerhard Kohl zu Pilchhausen and his brother-in-law give from a place Wiese with the source (Quol) so cleared from the oak wood 4 Taler and 2 Stüber to the Burg cellar.
The land belonged to the Eichholz estate, which was the domain of the Counts of Berg.
From the year 1759 there is a message about the Eichholz estate, according to measurement size approx. 280 acres 23 rods.
On March 24, 1779, Christoph Kampmann loaned 100 thalers from Eichholz in Heiligen Born for the new house to be built there. Here is one of the rare cases in the Wermelskirchen area, where the age of a house is precisely determined.
In the original cadastre from 1828 to 1830 the estate was 17 acres in size. Probably through acquisitions from the Eichholz estate, the estate was 46 acres in size in 1866.
In 1896 the owners sold the 28-acre estate to the last owners for 12,500 marks .
In recent years the estate has served as a riding stables.
