Gidleigh Castle
Gidleigh Castle is a ruined castle in the village of Gidleigh on the edge of Dartmoor , about 3 kilometers northwest of Chagford in the English county of Devon .
Around 1324 William de Prouz had the fortified manor built. Today it is a ruined, two-story donjon with a basement and a knight's hall on the upper floor. The castle ruins are listed as Grade I Historic Building by English Heritage .
