The Gießen Golden Dragons are a German American football team from the university town of Gießen in Central Hesse , which has been playing in the German Football League 2 since the 2016 season . The team has two men's teams and one junior team each in the age groups U19, U16 and U13.

history

In 2000 the team emerged from the connection of the loan yesterday Lightnings to MTV 1846 Gießen , the umbrella club of the basketball team Gießen 46ers . In 2015, the first men's team achieved their greatest sporting success to date, promotion to the GFL2 , the second highest division in American football in Germany.
