Gilgen Cross

Gilgen Cross

A Gilgen cross ( Italian: giglio = lily ) consists of a lily symbol ( lily cross ) lengthened to a cross , as with the rulers of the Anjou or on the Gigliato , a silver groschen from the Middle Ages.

A conventional cross of the same length forms the basis. The actual shape is created by lily-shaped outgrowths, vegetal decorations and arabesques .
