Gilles Dhamen

Gilles Dhamen (born September 5, 1983 in Luxembourg ) was Directeur de Solidarité Nationale of the Luxembourg Red Cross and a Luxembourg football coach .

Career

Gilles Dhamen grew up as the middle child of three siblings in Larochette . He attended the Lycée Technique pour professions éducatives et sociales and passed the Abitur there. He completed his studies in social work and social management at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University and at the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences , which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2014 . From 2007 to 2019 he worked full-time for the Luxembourg Red Cross. He started out as responsible for the Youth Red Cross (2007 to 2008) and then headed the day care centers from 2008 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2019, Gilles Dhamen was responsible for the areas of “Social Affairs” and “Children and Youth” and represented the organization at the Entente des Gestionnaires des Centers d'Accueil (EGCA), where he was responsible for the platform “Aide à l'Enfance et aux familles " Board.

He lives in the Larochette with his wife and two daughters.

Sports

Gilles Dhamen has been playing soccer in various Luxembourg clubs since he was a teenager. At the beginning of his playing career he was with Marisca Mersch, Berdenia Berbourg and FCM Young Boys Diekirch, and then played for several years as a goalkeeper at FC Olympia Christnach and FC 72 Erpeldingen .

For the 2016/2017 season he was the coach of the first team at FC Olympia Christnach and moved to FC 72 Erpeldingen for the 2017/2018 season, where he was assistant coach to Charles Leweck .

Honorary positions

As a child and adolescent, Gilles Dhamen took part in the summer camps of the Luxembourg Red Cross, where she trained as a volunteer leader. He helped organize numerous youth camps and Service Vacances activities . Gilles Dhamen was a board member of the Youth Red Cross from 1999 to 2011.
