Gilles Floret

Gilles Floret (born January 26, 1966 in Courpière near Clermont-Ferrand , France ) is a French singer and Germanist.

His parents were farmers, but in 1970 the family moved to the city to look for work. Gilles first attended the College and then the Lycée .

Floret plays French soft rock and is also known in Germany due to his numerous appearances. He first learned German in Dijon and then did his military service in Berlin . He was a lecturer in French at the University of Halle . Floret received his doctorate in 1993 in Nancy on the motif of the "nausée" in GDR poetry ("La Nausée dans la poésie est-allemande entre 1980 et 1989. Deux figures exemplaires: Hans-Eckardt Wenzel & Steffen Mensching") and works today (2006 ), in addition to his concert and lecture activities, as an editor at a German school book publisher.
