Gintautas Kėvišas

Gintautas Kėvišas (born November 13, 1954 in Kaunas , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian pianist , cultural manager and liberal politician .

Life

In 1978 he graduated from Lietuvos valstybinė konservatorija and in 1982 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory . He was general director of Lietuvos nacionalinė filharmonija and from 2000 to 2001 Lithuania's minister of culture . From 2003 to 2007 and from 2007 to 2011 member of the Vilnius City Council . Until June 2017 he directed the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater . He was exonerated because, according to the Ministry of Education, he systematically confused private and public interests.

From 1999 he was a member of Lietuvos liberalų sąjunga and then the Liberalų ir centro sąjunga .
