Gionee is a smartphone manufacturer founded in 2002 in Shenzhen .
history
When it was founded, the company was one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the People's Republic of China . In 2003 the company had a market share of 4.7%. Then the company expanded into neighboring countries to be able to offer its products. There are two production facilities in China; Dongguan Jinming Electronics and Dongguan Jinzhong Electronics . A total of over 20,000 m² of production space is available. So far, around 80 million RMB has been invested . With the Gionee Elife S5.1 , Gionee is currently selling the thinnest smartphone in the world (thickness: 5.1 mm), which was awarded an entry in the Guinness Book of Records .
The company is located in the Times Science and Technology Mansion which is located in the Futian district.

Gionee is also active in India , Bangladesh , Nigeria , Vietnam , Republic of China (Taiwan) , Myanmar , Thailand , Nepal and the Philippines .
On the European continent, Gionee's smartphones are always sold through partners with other names.
