Ludwig Edenhofer junior
Ludwig Edenhofer jun. (* July 13, 1861 in Regen ; † September 1, 1940 in Deggendorf ) was an organ builder and cellist .
Life
Ludwig Edenhofer jun. was born on July 13, 1861 as the son of organ builder Ludwig Edenhofer (senior) in Regen. He completed an apprenticeship as an organ builder with his father. In 1893 the company was split up and the main business relocated to Deggendorf . Ludwig Edenhofer (senior) died on August 24, 1895.
meaning
Ludwig Edenhofer tried to industrialize the organ building business by relocating the main business to a closed match factory. His stately company building was depicted in his letterhead with a smoking chimney behind it. To the left and right of the picture was the text “Organ building with power operation”. In addition, he tried to rationalize his design and to keep up with the times by changing the shop design from the mechanical cone drawer to the lighter, work-sharing, pneumatic cone drawer around 1900 . He also produced pianos in his company . Despite his progressive and prudent behavior at the time, his organs gradually lost their quality, and the competition with the company Binder und Siemann (owner Willibald Siemann ) in Munich intensified. Finally, he sold his company in 1921 building on the piano factory "Baldur works." By 1928 his company had produced around 180 organs.
