Günching is a district of the municipality of Velburg in the Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate . In the village there is the parish church of Our Lady Annunciation and an airfield for motorized pilots.
location
The village is located about 10 km east of Neumarkt and 7 km northwest of Velburg on the Upper Palatinate Jura plateau on the NM 25 district road .
history
The area around Günching was probably settled as early as the Bronze Age. This is proven by finds of bronze swords from barrows in the Günching area, also from the Hallstatt period .
In 1277 Günching was the seat of a noble family. In 1277 a Heinrich von Günching was heard as a witness on the occasion of a donation of an estate to the Pielenhofen monastery . In 1288 the sons of Konrad von Ehrenfels , Heinrich and Konrad (II.) Von Ehrenfels, compared with Duke Ludwig after a decision by Bishop Heinrich von Regensburg . Günching was also mentioned during an agreed exchange of goods.
In 1322 Ulrich von Günching received two farms as fiefs from Heinrich von Ehrenfels, the Vogtei on the Widen and a tree garden in Günching. In a description of the properties of the Kastl monastery around 1325, goods in Günching are also mentioned. In 1342 Ulrich Frickenhofer, Burgmann zu Helfenberg , left his goods in Günching to the Seligenporten monastery . 1368 a Günchinger named Konrad Bürge is for Peter von Ehrenfels.
The parish of Günching belonged to the Ehrenfelser area until the Helfenberg rulership was pledged to the Count Palatine Ruprecht in 1372/73 . The parish is believed to have come into their possession at the same time that Bishop Siegfried von Regensburg conferred the rule of Helfenberg on Konrad von Hohenfels in 1232.
Ulrich von Günching and Wernher Pauer von Helfenberg are named in a letter of purchase dated May 23, 1379. These sell Diepolden Rochsleder von Castl and Volckleins, Bernhardt's former Burgers zu Amberg Khinden Johansen, Erharden and Adelhaiten Purgern there, Seybotten, the Stuchsen Enichlein and all iren heirs ire two parts of the Hof zu Reuthoff, on which the Schaller sat, with all what goes with it . A Hube zu Günching appears in 1425 as a Bavarian fiefdom owned by Heinrich Mendorfers. The Amberg bourgeois family of the Wernstainers (or Bernstainers) owned a Hube and two Sölden zu Günching in 1430. The Pielenhofen monastery also had a farm in Günching, about which a letter of inheritance was issued in 1440.
In 1540 the Reformation was introduced in Günching . During the reign of Elector Ottheinrich (1556–1559), the parishes of the Helfenhergischen became Lutheran , later Calvinist under his successors . During this time the branch church Deusmauer was separated from Günching and raised to its own parish. After the re-Catholicization under Duke Maximilian I of Bavaria in 1625, Günching was first subordinated to the Deining parish , and later to the Lengenfeld parish .
In 1627 a parsonage was built in Günching, which was destroyed again by the Swedes in 1633 in the Thirty Years' War . The reconstruction took place in 1644. In 1652 Günching came to the parish of Deining, in 1666 at the latest a separate parish was established in Günching. 1629 Count Tilly received the rule of Helfenberg. With this, the patronage rights in Günching passed to his family. In 1746 the patronage rights came to the barons of Hegnenberg, in 1794 these came to the barons of Hegnenberg and in 1794 they fell to the Electorate of Bavaria with the purchase of the Helfenberg rule . At the end of the Old Empire , around 1800, Günching consisted of 25 properties, the largest of which were the two half-yards of the subjects Röhl and Stigler. In addition to the rule of Helfenberg, the Hofmark Lintach owned a half-yard in Günching, on which the subject Auer sat, as well as two smaller properties.
In the years 1713 and 1716 to 1720, the parish church of the Annunciation to Our Lady Maria was built in Günching . A medieval choir speaks in favor of a previous church. Cosmas Damian Asam painted the ceiling frescoes with scenes from the life of Christ. Cosmas Damian Asam also made the leaf on the high altar that shows the Annunciation to Mary . In 1728 the poor soul chapel was built, which is an octagonal room attached to the church building.
In the Kingdom of Bavaria , tax districts were formed according to an ordinance of May 13, 1808 ; Günching became its own tax district in the Parsberg Regional Court , to which the localities of Günching, Krondorf , Dürn , Federhof , Hennenhof and Ollertshof were assigned. With the second Gemeindeedikt of 1818 it originated with unchanged local inventory Rural Municipality Günching. From June 1, 1862 Günching belonged to the newly founded district office of Velburg. The municipality was incorporated into Velburg on May 1, 1978 as part of the municipal reform.
