Rain footmill

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Regenfußmühle is a former mill in the town of Velburg in the Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate . It is located on the Frauenbach , a tributary of the Schwarzen Laber . The 592 meter high Läufelberg is about 0.6 km to the east.

The mill has existed since the late Middle Ages. It used to belong to the church village of Oberweiling. Today the mill is used for agriculture.

In the 1960s there was a zoo with a number of animals in the Regenfußmühle . Lions, snakes and bears were exhibited. The farmhouse was used as an inn at that time. The zoo was closed in the late 1970s due to the low number of visitors.
