Rammersberg is a village in the Upper Palatinate Jura in the municipality of Velburg in the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate. The village has almost 100 inhabitants and is close to the federal highway 3 .

history

The good location of the Schollnberg favored the construction of a castle stable in the 12th century by the Counts of Velburg. The St. Nikolaus branch church located in the village is estimated to have been in the year 1002 and is therefore one of the oldest churches in the area along with Oberweiling. The building is a listed building , the core of the choir tower from 1654 is older. The medieval stone cross was transported here from road 2220. The first written mention of Rammersberg comes from the year 1189. The spelling of the place changed several times over the centuries: Ramsberg, Rutmarsperc, Regmannsberg, Remelsberg, Ramelsberg. During the Reformation, the Rammersbergers changed confession several times. Lutheran in 1538, after which there was a multiple change between the teachings of Luther and the teachings of Calvin. From 1617 the Roman Catholic denomination was reintroduced. On September 21, 1817, Rammersberg was parish off to Lengenfeld. Even today there are many old, interesting houses in Rammersberg, as well as the Rammersberg atonement cross, which is related to the Lengenfeld Galgenberg.
