Vogelbrunn

Vogelbrunn is a small village with about 40 inhabitants in the municipality of Velburg in the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate in Bavaria . Vogelbrunn is located in a side valley of the Schwarzen Laaber .

The name Vogelbrunn appeared for the first time in 1285 in historical sources as a name for a mill. In the course of time, a settlement developed on this site. During the Reformation, the residents changed their denomination several times , depending on the denomination of the sovereigns: they became Lutheran in 1538, followed by several changes between Lutheranism and Calvinism. The community has been Catholic since 1617. In the village there is a chapel as a branch church of the parish of Oberweiling .

Since it was incorporated in the 1970s, the place has belonged to the large municipality of Velburg. Vogelbrunn was previously part of the Parsberg district , which was dissolved in the Neumarkt district after it was dissolved .
