Krondorf is a district of the municipality of Velburg in the Neumarkt district in the Upper Palatinate .

Geographical location

The place is about 1 km northeast of the former town hall Günching in the Upper Palatinate Jura of the Frankish Alb at 525  m above sea level. NHN . The Krondorfer Tal, largely a dry valley , extends south of Krondorf ; only at its exit does a brook form, which flows into the Dürner Bach, a right tributary of the Schwarzen Laber .

The next driveway is AS 92 b (Neumarkt Ost) just 200 m from the A3 motorway with the Jura rest area (West). Local roads from Günching, Dürn and Federhof lead to Krondorf .

Place name interpretation

Krondorf, historically also called Crandorf, should its name from the Old High German word "hran" for " juniper have" her, therefore, was a village with juniper bushes.

history

In the land register of the Velburg office from around 1231–1237 the settlement appears as "Grandorf"; it consists of 1 farm and 1 fiefdom. 1260–1449 are named local nobility; In 1875 traces of a castle could still be seen near the wooden mountain “Fischleiten”. Around 1400/10 the tithing was owned by the Helfenberg rule , which was awarded to nobles ; this was sold by the Ehrenfels to Count Palatine Ruprecht in 1372/73. Under the Electoral Palatinate (maintenance) office of Helfenberg, Krondorf consisted of 2 farms and 5 estates in 1588, and in 1622 of 2 farms, 1 Hube and 4 estates. At the end of the Old Kingdom , around 1800, 8 properties of two manors (7 in the hands of the Helfenberg office of Count von Tilly and 1 belonging to the Kastl monastery ) formed the community.

In the Kingdom of Bavaria , tax districts were formed in accordance with an ordinance of May 13, 1808 , including the Günching tax district in the Parsberg district court , to which the towns of Günching, Krondorf, Dürn, Federhof, Hennenhof and Ollertshof were assigned. With the second Gemeindeedikt of 1818 it originated with unchanged local inventory Rural Municipality Günching where the children of Krondorf also went to school. The community and with it Krondorf was incorporated into Velburg on May 1, 1978.

Architectural monuments

The St. Maria court chapel in Krondorf 5, a saddle roof building with a bell ridge opening like a basket arch, built in 1848 by Leonhard Nisselbeck near his house and consecrated in 1850, is considered a monument. See the list of monuments in Velburg # Krondorf
