history

The places Pfaffenrieth and Uchamühle , which formerly belonged to the municipality, are settlements that became deserted in the 15th century and have been revived over time.
The rural community Etzgersrieth was established in Bavaria in 1818 by the municipal edict . In 1835 the village was almost completely burned down. Only the church and a few properties remained intact. The rumor that it was arson continues to this day. On July 1, 1972, Etzgersrieth was incorporated into the Moosbach market .

Until the beginning of 2005, the place also had its own pastor with the clerical councilor Georg Bodner, who had to take care of the villages of the Netherlands and Rückersrieth , which were part of the district . This sector is now also covered by the Moosbach parish.
