history

In 1531 Georg Walbrunn built Hammer Premhof, which is now called Hammermühle. Walbrunn was a hammer master at Pfrentsch . A list from 1566 shows that the local residents of Premhof were quite wealthy (Georg Walbrunn had a fortune of 300 guilders , his master craftsman 100, the blacksmith 64, a blacksmith 42 and the cabbage knife 24 guilders). From 1566 to 1605 Willibald Castner was the owner of the hammer and his heirs succeeded him. The work was probably deserted, however, because on April 17, 1609, Willibald Castner's widow, Margaretha Castner, daughter of Hanns Sauerzapf the Younger from Altendresswitz and his wife Agnes Pfinzing, asked for cabbage and timber to rebuild the hammer mill. In 1610 Christoph Castner was the owner and he was succeeded by Georg Willibald Castner in 1623.

In the Thirty Years' War the hammer was destroyed by the Mansfeld troops and then lay desolate. In a report dated January 16, 1666 about the state of mining and hammering in the Upper Palatinate, Pfremhof reports: "An iron or shin hammer, inaccessible and unused since the Mansfeld train in 1621, the hammers and house buildings (de) completely away. The hammer belonged to Georg Willibald Kastner's heirs, who, however, had already forgiven themselves because of the resulting church debts to Moßbach and 'left them home'. ”At that time, the hammer also had a mill with one gear.

In 1765 Peter Riedl bought the hammer from the miller Georg Dobmeier and started a mill there.

In 1866 Adam Kapf built a glass grinding and polishing plant . In 1905 the Bayerische Spiegelglasfabriken, Fürth, operated a grinding shop there. In 1941 Hans Pöllmann acquired the ribbon and it was torn down. Today (2013) a Kaplan turbine is installed there to generate electricity. On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Hammermühle was listed as part of the Moosbach parish with two houses and 28 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990, Hammermühle had three residents and belonged to the Moosbach parish.
