history

Pielmühle was first mentioned in writing in 1562. In 1566 Pielmühle was owned by Hans Bernecker and from 1644 owned by the Wittmann family. During the War of the Austrian Succession , the area around Pielmühle suffered greatly from the Austrian army led by Field Marshal Franz Leopold von Nádasdy . On March 23, 1913 (Easter), Pielmühle was listed as part of the Burkhardsrieth branch belonging to the Pleystein parish with one house and seven residents. On December 31, 1990 Pielmühle had four residents and belonged to the Burkhardsrieth branch of the parish of Pleystein.
