Burkhardsrieth is a parish village in the Upper Palatinate . Today it is part of the town of Pleystein in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in Bavaria and is located in the southeastern municipality.

history

Burkhardsrieth goes back to an old clearing settlement. In 1808/10 the tax district Burkhardsrieth was formed. The political municipality was established in Bavaria in 1818 by the municipal edict. On January 1, 1972, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, the previously independent municipalities of Lohma and Miesbrunn and parts of the dissolved municipalities of Bernrieth were incorporated into Pleystein. On July 1, 1972, parts of the former municipality of Burkhardsrieth followed with the town itself.
