history

Münster goes back to a monastery founded by the Agilolfinger and was a focus of Christianization in the early Middle Ages . The clearing of the forests began from the Münster monastery, which existed until the Hungarian storms in the 10th century. In addition to the clearing activity, the monks' duties included pastoral care and missionary work, as well as accommodating travelers on the old Roman road that passed close to the monastery.

The municipality of Münster was founded by the Bavarian municipal edict in 1818. In addition to Münster, the community included the towns of Kreuzthann, Obervorholzen and Oed. It belonged to the district of Rottenburg an der Laaber and was incorporated into the city of Rottenburg an der Laaber on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
