Lalling is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf , the seat of the administrative community Lalling and a state-approved resort .

Lalling is located in the Danube Forest region in the southwestern Bavarian Forest , more precisely in the Lallinger Winkel .

Districts are: Datting, Dösing, Durchfurth, Durchfurtherschuss, Euschertsfurth, Frohnmühl, Gerholling, Ginn, Kapfing, Kaußing, Lalling, Oisching, Ranzing, Ranzingerberg, Stritzling, Urding, Watzing and Woiding.
There is only the district Lalling.
history
Until the church is planted
Lalling and the community part Ranzing were in 1148 in a letter of protection from Pope Eugene III. first mentioned in a document. From the beginning of the 13th century until secularization in Bavaria in 1803, the largest landlord was the Niederalteich monastery . Lalling belonged to the Straubing Rent Office and the Hengersberg Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818.

In the period from 1988 to 2018, the municipality grew from 1,400 to 1,552 by 152 inhabitants or 10.9%.

Michael Reitberger (CSU) has been Mayor of Lalling since 2020. In the runoff election for the local elections in Bavaria 2020 , Michael Reitberger (CSU) prevailed on March 29, 2020 with 51.9 percent against Michael Wenig (SPD).
Mayor was Josef Streicher (SPD / Independent Citizens) from 1996 to 2020. He won his last mayoral election in 2014 with 57.39% against his challenger Michael Reitberger (CSU). This had received 42.61% of the vote.

- France : On April 30, 2000, a parish partnership was entered into with the municipality of Remy (Oise) .
- Czech Republic : On April 10, 2005 Lalling and Remy officially signed a friendship agreement with Běšiny (German: Bieschin - Pilsen region, Bohemia).

The Lalling Church was first mentioned in a document in 1149. The Lalling branch was raised to a parish in 1718. The Catholic parish church of St. Stephen was built in 1722/23.

Economy including agriculture and forestry
In 2017 there were 180 jobs subject to social security contributions in the municipality. Of the resident population, 688 people were in employment subject to compulsory insurance. This means that the number of out-commuters was 508 greater than that of in-commuters. 15 residents were unemployed. In 2016 there were 30 farms.
education
In 2018 there were the following institutions:
- A day-care center for children with 89 places and 80 children, including five children under three years of age
- A primary school with eight classes and 160 students
