Ausernzell is a municipality in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf and a member of the Schöllnach administrative community .
geography
The place in the Danube Forest region lies in the valley of the Kleine Ohe at the transition from the Danube valley to the Bavarian Forest . There is only the district Ausernzell.
history
Until the church is planted
"Cella is mentioned for the first time in a document dated January 27, 1005, in which Emperor Heinrich II. Confirms 12 places in Niederaltaich monastery, including Cella = Ausernzell."
1149 confirmed Pope Eugene III. the monastery owned a parish church and accessories. The Maierhof located here was later elevated to the Amthof. After the end of the Thirty Years War (1618-1648) the plague raged. The first schoolmaster was registered in 1716. During the War of the Austrian Succession (1740–1745), the church and the inn were plundered by the enemy in June 1742, and the chaplain was badly mistreated. On December 13, 1742, Croatian troops looted the place again.
Ausernzell belonged to the Straubing Rent Office and the Hengersberg Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . The secularization in Bavaria brought about the establishment of the first community school in 1803. In 1818 today's community was established.
20th century
In 1972 the parish church was renovated and two aisles were added.

In the period from 1988 to 2018, the municipality grew from 1,265 to 1,433 by 168 inhabitants or 13.3%.

mayor
Michael Klampfl (CSU / Junge Liste) has been mayor since May 2008. He was confirmed in office in 2014 with no opposing candidates with 92.5% of the votes cast. In the local elections on March 15, 2020 , he was re-elected in the first ballot with 68.02 percent of an opposing candidate.

Attractions
The townscape is shaped by the Catholic parish church Mariae Himmelfahrt and the subsidiary church St. Leonhard. The main nave of the parish church was built around 1550. In 1972 it received a new, original transept. The sacrament house is late Gothic, the pulpit is baroque.
Since ancient times there has been a pilgrimage to St. Leonhard in Ausernzell . The neo-Gothic Leonhardskirche was built in 1884 instead of an old pilgrimage chapel.
Economy and Infrastructure
Economy including agriculture and forestry
According to official statistics, there were 253 employees subject to social insurance contributions at the place of work in 2017. 608 of the inhabitants were employed subject to social security contributions, so that there was a commuter surplus of 355 people. In 2016 there were 51 farms (in 1999 there were 86). The agriculturally used area was 1398 ha, of which 730 ha were arable land and 667 ha were permanent green space.
In comparison the data from 1998 (the increase / decrease in brackets):

- 469 residents in employment subject to social security contributions (+ 30%)
- 289 more out-commuters than employed people (+ 23%)

The following institutions existed in 2018:
- A day-care center with 87 places and 55 supervised children
- A primary school with 3 classes and 55 students
In 1999 there were 50 kindergarten places with 69 supervised children and an elementary school with 83 pupils.
