history

architecture

The architecture of the church

The church exterior has a pilaster structure. The west tower, which stands a little north of the nave axis and was formerly in front of the Gothic west facade, is essentially late Gothic; the formerly late Gothic nave with a ribbed vault on wall services now forms the central nave. The slightly retracted two-bay choir with a five-eighth end and flat buttresses is late Gothic. In 1686 two five-bay side aisles were added, with square central nave pillars being built. The west tower was built into the west front with the aisles. The tower was extended by an octagonal bell storey and roofed with an onion dome in 1744. The tower ground floor, which is now a cellar, was previously a vestibule. The former portal with a straight lintel is still recognizable.

In the choir there is a late Gothic niche with a sandstone relief of the Resurrection of Christ from the end of the 16th century. There are also tombstones from the 2nd half of the 14th century and from 1707.
