The drain cross Schriefers is in the district Schriefers in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ), Schriefers / Erkelenzer road.

The cross was erected in 1859. It was entered in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach under No. Sch 031 on October 10, 1995 .

location

Built as a drain Cross Crossroads is northwest of the opening out of Schriefers in the Erkelenzer road path at the edge of a field.

architecture

It is a small cross made of bluestone on a multi-segmented base. Concrete floor slab , the almost cubic plinth leads into the upright rectangular middle section, the inscription of which reads:

My Jesus / Mercy / 100 days OJ / Sacred Heart of Jesus / I trust / in you / 300 days exp.

The high cross shaft with a short beam head rises above a multi-tiered cornice with a bulge and a weakly developed carnation .

The older inscription can be found on the back of the cross today:

JOHANNA ELISABETH / HENRICHS / GEB. TO ANSTERD ON / 10 MAY 1814 / GEST. TO DAHLEN / DEC. 1859

The property is worth protecting as a monument for local and socio-historical reasons.
