Giorgio Bianchi (born February 18, 1904 in Rome , † February 9, 1967 ) was an Italian film director , screenwriter and actor .

Life

After completing a technical degree and after having worked in various professions, Bianchi began in 1925 as an actor in a silent film by Augusto Genina and worked with some of the most important Italian directors of the time until 1933. Then he turned briefly to dubbing and then to assistant director before he presented his debut film as a director in 1942 with La maestrina (based on the comedy by Dario Niccodemi ). In the following films, Bianchi established himself as a director of not banal material, but also the occasional comedy, often based on their own script. From the mid-1950s onwards, he often turned to increasingly commercial subjects, including a number of crime films . A later highlight of his comedic material was Totò e Peppino diviso a Berlino in 1962 .
