Giorgio Malinverni

Giorgio Malinverni (born October 3, 1941 ) is a Swiss lawyer, university professor and judge.

On July 27, 2006, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe elected him Judge at the European Court of Human Rights . In this function he replaced Luzius Wildhaber . As one of three candidates proposed by the Swiss authorities, he received 75 votes, the other two, Lili Nabholz and Giusep Nay , 49 and 19 votes respectively.

On October 9, 2007, he gave his farewell lecture at the University of Geneva .
