Giovanni Battista Agnozzi
Giovanni Battista Agnozzi (born August 2, 1821 in Mogliano , † February 4, 1888 in Bogota ) was an Italian priest.
Life
Giovanni Battista Agnozzi, born in 1821 in Mogliano in the Italian brand , was from 1854 to 1859 as an auditor at the Swiss nunciature in Lucerne , where he himself from 1868 to 1873/74 as chargé officiated. As part of the Kulturkampf in Switzerland and after a change of heart in the Swiss Federal Council in response to the papal letter " Etsi multa luctuosa " of November 21, 1873, the nunciature was closed and Agnozzi was expelled from the country. He left Switzerland on February 12, 1874 for Rome with the words: "Vale Helvetia, cum usibus et abusibus tuis" (Farewell, Switzerland, with your manners and bad habits). In 1882 Agnozzi went to Bogota / Colombia as papal envoy , where he died in 1888.
